The Brotherhood without Banners is a nonprofit fan group run entirely on contributions from its members or generous donators. Contributions are used primarily to host the annual Gathering at Worldcon each year, where the BwB hosts an open party for the 5K+ attendees of Worldcon in honor of George R. R. Martin, and uses funds to pay for this event, as well as purchase items for fund-raising. When you donate, your name will be added to any cards sent to GRRM for birthday or holiday wishes.
